By car: The journey can be done by car in a single day using the Channel Tunnel/Eurotunnel/Le Shuttle. This route is also brilliant if you want to bring a dog or cat with you.  From arrival in Calais, it will take around 10 hours' driving time on high quality ‘autoroutes’ to reach Auch, the capital of Gascony and centre of the Simply Gascony property rental area. There are also lots of car ferry Channel crossings.

By Ferry: there are 9 different Cross Channel routes, with up to 744 ferries sailing a week on the Channel, including:

from Portsmouth, Plymouth, Poole, Newhaven or Dover, to variously, Calais, Dieppe, Cherbourg, St Malo, Le Havre, Caen, Roscoff.

We find the overnight Brittany Ferries crossing St Malo to Portsmouth with Brittany Ferries to be very convenient.

 

 

By Rail: there are fast and comfortable services from London to Bordeaux, taking between 7 and 9 hours for the whole journey.  Trainline provides a very good, integrated booking service.

Euro Star departs daily from London for Paris, and there are regular train services from Paris to Toulouse, Montauban or Auch.

By Air:  The closest airport for most SG properties is Toulouse Blagnac International Airport or Bordeaux Merignac International - although there other options within a few hours’ drive, such as Pau/Tarbes, Carcassonne International, Bergerac and Montpellier. Even in these difficult times there are direct flights to Toulouse from 7 UK airports
