Le Serien is a delightful C18 farmhouse set in gorgeous rolling hills with a warm, welcoming 'cottage-style feel' to it. It has been designed and equipped as a family home and makes a perfect location for a holiday with children. The large heated swimming pool is securely fenced and there is a large garden with a variety of mature fruit trees. There are two outdoor eating areas with a barbecue, and on a clear day exceptional views across open countryside to the Pyrenees, which seem almost close enough to touch!
You will enter the house through the old double fronted doors into the hallway, which leads into the Sitting Room with an open fireplace, and then on into the dining room with a large table seating 8/10. The fully fitted kitchen is next to the dining room and has a door out to a sheltered terraced eating area. There is another door from the kitchen into a TV/playroom, which also opens out onto another terraced/sitting area, with views onto the garden and swimming pool. Everywhere, spaces flow between the garden and the house.
Downstairs beyond the dining room there is one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, using one bathroom, and a second twin bedroom along a corridor off the sitting room. Upstairs the first-floor landing leads into a twin bedroom and through this to a suite comprising 'master' double bedroom, single child's room and bathroom. The twin bedroom has access upstairs to a small shower room on the second floor tucked under the roof.
As you would expect in a family home, there are lots of children's toys, games, videos and DVDs along with highchair, buggy etc for guests to use. There is English Freeview TV, DVD and video players and WIFI.
The renowned Marciac International Jazz Festival takes place only 20 minutes away from Le Serien. This is held every August for 2 weeks, a major attraction for either the serious Jazz lover, with concerts every night, or for sitting in the 'place' with a glass of rosé, watching the world go by, plus the odd bit of shopping at the many artisanal stalls.
The majestic Pyrenees are only about an hour's drive away from Le Serien - offering excellent winter skiing and a huge playground in summer with paragliding, walking, rafting, canoeing, etc.
