Le Debonnaire and Les Hirondelles are separate houses, situated about 200 metres apart on the same beautiful property. Each house has its own, completely private, swimming pool; each house has its own approach from the main drive into the property and its own parking area; either house can be booked on its own, or they can be booked together.

The two houses, with their terraces, swimming pools and outbuildings, form a delightful group of fine stone buildings set in 5 hectares (12 acres) of well-planted, lovingly maintained gardens full of mature shrubs and trees, the whole surrounded by farmland and oak woods. There is lots of space for children to play, well-away from the very quiet country road. With a fabulous view from the main terrace of Le Debonnaire down the steep-sided valley to the lake below, this is the perfect place for a family holiday!

Les Hirondelles ('The Swallows') is a more modern, stone-built 'Maison des Amis' or house for friends, designed and built by the present owners in the lovely grounds of their main house, to provide guest accommodation for their family and friends. This guest house sleeps 6 people in three double/twin bedrooms all of which have their own bath/shower rooms, together with a spacious kitchen/breakfast room and sitting room.

From its private parking area, the front door leads into the large living area, which has an open wood-burning fireplace, comfortable seating for 6, TV (Freeview) DVD and WIFI. To one side is the open-plan kitchen and a round dining table for 6.

Also on the ground floor is the large master bedroom and ensuite shower room. Upstairs are two further twin bedrooms each with its own shower room. With easy access from the parking area into the house, and then to the ground floor bedroom and bathroom, the house is suitable for wheelchair access or for people with limited mobility.

Beside the house is a private sun terrace with table, chairs and BBQ. This leads on to a private, fenced and terraced swimming pool (7.5m x 3.75m) - ideal for small children.

One of the added advantages of this property is the very attractive nearby village of Saint Maurin. Built over ten centuries around the imposing ruins of its C11th Benedictine Abbey, the central square has picturesque half-timbered houses, a C17th Town Hall and the remains of the castle tower with battlements. Local services include: a well-stocked village shop, bakery, café-bistro, post-office, and brand new tennis court (FOC).

The whole property, whether rented as two separate houses or taken together as a whole, provides all the ingredients for a wonderful family holiday - for one or two families, several generations and lots of children.
